Utility Scale Battery Energy Storage System
The project entails the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of a BESS facility to be used primarily for frequency control, ancillary services and other grid support applications.
The project will also include integration of the BESS into ESCOM’s system operations.
The goal of this project is to enable integration of variable renewable energy sources into Malawi’s national grid and therefore improve electricity access to about six hundred thousand (600,000) households and industries connected to the national grid.
